I'm back to feeling better though and seems like I'm starving! I think Blue Girl and Pool Guy are starving too. LOL
- 2 Pounds of ground Sirloin
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic minced
- 2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (1 tbsp of dried)
- 1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard (regular will work if you don't have dijon)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1/2 small onion chopped
- 1 garlic clove minced
- Fresh Mushrooms sliced
- 6 Tablespoons Flour
- 1 quart of beef broth (32oz carton)
- Pan drippings plus 1 to 2 tablespoons of butter or oil.
Cook your chopped onion and garlic in some Olive oil in a dutch oven over med heat until just tender but not browned. Remove pan from heat.
Mix all ingredients from the "meat" list including the sauteed onion and garlic in a bowl. Form into patties. I usually get 6 out of 2lbs of meat. (5 good sized and one smaller for Blue Girl)
Heat the pan back up over med. heat . Lightly brown patties. Remove patties from pan and set aside. (I did mine in two batches)
Preheat oven to 325.
Add a small amount of oil or butter to pan and drippings.
Add your chopped 1/2 onion and garlic. Saute until just softened.
Add mushrooms. Cook until they absorb the butter in the pan. (about 1-2 min)
Add flour to pan. Mix in thoroughly. (you will end up with mushroom/onion/garlic paste)
Pour in the broth a little at a time whisking to smooth getting up all the little browned goodies on the bottom of the pan.
Place the meat patties back into the pan making sure to cover all the patties.
Cover and put in a 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
